DESIGNED FOR
A FIRST SEASON

The working baseline combines a single rear motor, chain transmission and a tubular steel chassis. Manageable manufacturing and validation take priority over a full aerodynamic package.

KU-01 is in concept development. Specifications will evolve through design and testing.

ENGINEERING

THE VEHICLE SYSTEMS

Aerodynamics

BODYWORK & COOLING

Clean bodywork, radiator flow and cooling-duct control take priority in season one. A full aerodynamic package adds manufacturing, setup and validation work beyond the first-year plan.

Chassis

TUBULAR STEEL SPACEFRAME

An AISI 4130 tubular steel spaceframe is the working baseline for manageable manufacturing and late-change risk. A carbon monocoque is deferred, given its tooling, process-control and evidence demands.

Powertrain

SINGLE-MOTOR REAR-WHEEL DRIVE

A single rear motor, single-stage chain reduction and a proven commercial inverter. Final-drive ratio will be established through lap simulation and tractive-effort modelling.

Electronics

ELECTRICAL SAFETY & CONTROL

Safe torque command, shutdown logic and thermal logging come before telemetry. Electrical System Form ownership and coordination with the Electrical System Officer are central.

Suspension

GEOMETRY & VALIDATION

Unequal-length double wishbones, with 10-inch wheels subject to supply and packaging. Kinematic models will be checked against measured setup-pad geometry, not CAD alone.
